“In critical times like these people need blissful moments and happy hours. To get along with life and let go for a day. All new, all green, all in. Something the city of Ludwigshafen has never had before. An intimate 12 hour daytime rave promoting delicate electronic music, made by ambitious artists from all over the globe. It’s not the time for big headliners and giant disco balls, but for bringing people together in unity for the love of music. Surrounded by trees and located next to a little lake, its the perfect spot, protected by music and naughty by nature.”
These are the words from the creators of Ludwigshafen’s newest festival. From 12:00hrs on Saturday 4th of September, Ludwigshafen plays home to the first international Blies Festival. The one-day cultural festival for electronic music, named after the Große Blies, a popular lake in the middle of the city, expects 2,000 music fans yearning for 12 hours of scintillating music.
Blies Festival has pushed gender parity with the selection of six internationally celebrated DJs: Dr. Rubinstein (Tel Aviv), Mathew Jonson (Vancouver) Vlada (Moscow), Quest & Christian AB (Bergamo/London), Francesco del Garda (Bologna) and Roza Terenzi (Melbourne) completes the line-up. Expect a rollercoaster ride through minimal, tech house and acid.
This lineup boasts a selection of diggers that when combined should whet everyone’s appetite. With energy in abundance, be sure to get down early! The venue is green and within walking distance of the city centre.
Relax and unwind amongst this contrast between nature and industry, with cosy retreats, bars and a food court offering refreshments, vegetarian and vegan food. The resource-saving, sustainable event exemplifies pleasant and forward-looking views and celebrates the peaceful culture of the electronic music community.
