Music was in the air and everyone was in top spirits this past weekend as Berlin finally came out of hibernation. With all forms of live music halting in Germany since November 2020, this weekend was a breath of fresh air for Berliners as life returned (almost) back to normal. At about mid day on Friday, Club de Visionaere announced on their Instagram that they would officially be reopening that night and for the rest of the weekend!
Many people flocked to Kreuzberg at a chance of squeezing into this riverside bar for a chance to see a dance floor once again. Although the covid situation is improving it is not forgotten and there was still 100 person cap on the events resulting in a very long line before 6 pm on the opening night, leaving many people unsuccessful in getting in. Soothing the disappointment was the promise to return for more and that is just what they did. Giving us a big Saturday night and their famous Sunday sessions, it is a joy to see the return of CDV, bringing nightlife back to Berlin.
Friday night saw a trifecta of E/Tape, Margaret Dygas, and Thomas Melchior doing the honours for CDV’s opening night. Saturday welcomed Maki Polne and Inner. Kicking off at 12 pm with nothing but sunshine in the sky, the wooden terrace along the canal was filled. Wrapping up the opening weekend on Sunday was Franky Greiner, Freider Klaris and Felix HK. A Sunday with cold beer, lots of sun and unreal music.
Club Der Visionaere’s return was a surprise we welcomed with open arms. In true CDV spirit and with no warning, they brought 3 days of unreal sets. Despite still needing to shut by 1 am, the spirits remained high as everyone was just happy to be back listening to great live music with a sound system better than their home speaker. This weeks lineups were released only a few hours before the event started so don’t wait up. Get down to CDV because we know they’ll never disappoint. Keep your eyes peeled for future events as we expect they will be back again next weekend with something even bigger in store.
