Departure at Sankeys Ibiza Opening

Returning for its second season to the beautiful island of Ibiza, Manchester based night Departure are set to take their 2012 season to some seriously insane proportions with a selection of the finest line up’s across the island this summer. Having secured themselves as one of Ibiza’s most sought after parties of 2011 with names such as Russ Yallop, Luca C, Miguel Campbell and Rossko guesting; Departure’s resident DJ Oliver Drops will be joined by the hottest names on the house, techno and disco scene again this year as they take up a monthly Saturday night residency at none other than Sankeys.

One of Ibiza’s premier venues, Sankeys dark and atmospheric basement and epic main room will play host to line up’s that include One Records head honcho Adam Shelton, the legendary Chez Damier, Crosstown Rebel’s Live Act Amirali, Leftroom boss Matt Tolfrey, LA’s Droog, DJ Sneak...ahhhh – the list goes on!! Boasting a music policy that prides itself (and rightly so) on being for the worker community, Departure’s carefully programmed nights, electric atmosphere and thorough understanding of its roots are catalyst to their understated yet reputable success. Supporting up and coming talent as well as headline acts, Departure’s impeccable balance offers an elegant and  intimate alternative to the bright lights of the white isle.

Eastern Electrics Festival Preview and Competition

Hark back (if you can) to the August bank holiday 2008 and some of you may remember Eastern Electric’s somewhat epic two day festival. Showcasing the year’s most cutting edge dj’s, Live acts and promotions, the huge shindig said everything about the 2008 house and techno scene that needed to be said; giving East London a two day event to remember and securing their reputation as one of the best outfits around. Four years and twenty one crazy Eastern Electric parties later, the festival is back for 2012’s August Bank Holiday; this time with a line up that’s quite frankly frightening!

Working alongside Krankbrother, Black Atlantic, 2020 Vision, FOUND, Futureboogie and Return To The Future; the all day outdoor vibe will channel through moods such as the striking, bass rumbling sounds of Joy Orbison to Julio Bashmore, whose fusion of new house meets bass have seen him dominate the eyes and ears of many this year. Krankbrother are calling in the hugely talented Nina Kraviz alongside disco, funk ambassador Tensnake for their stage while Eastern Electrics themselves host Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and an indulgently delicious selection of the hottest acts this side of the moon!  Deep house originator Kerri Chandler will make an appearance, as will Pan-Pot, Trickski, Crazy P, Bill Patrick, Infinity Inc, Greg Wilson and the most talked about Live act on the scene right now, Amirali. Too many names to mention – take a look at the extensive line-up and you’ll understand why Eastern Electrics Festival 2012 is going to be one of the best and most sought after festival dates this summer!
