London’s internationally revered and respected clubbing institution fabric celebrate their 13th birthday on the penultimate weekend in October. As has been the fashion in recent years, the Saturday edition of the anniversary, which focuses primarily on house and techno, will run from Saturday evening until the early hours of Monday morning. In true Berghain style, the 30 hour+ event will feature sets from over twenty djs and live acts. This year will feature sets from the likes of Visionquest (with Seth Troxler), DJ Sneak and Joris Voorn, with Omar S and Space Dimension Controller (UK debut), amongst many others, performing live.
Rumour has it trendsetting newcomers Bicep will be hosting the Sunday night in room 3, joined by none other than Hercules & Love Affair vocalist Kim Anne Foxman. New York techno luminaries Levon Vincent and Fred P are also rumoured to be playing sets in room 3. As is the tradition at the birthday, dressing up is very much encouraged, towing a policy of ‘the more mental the merrier’. The marathon party will see many of the djs play several sets across the club, with rooms opening and closing sporadically as the hours roll by. Question is, after Moodymann so brilliantly killed it last year, who dares try their hand at the much-coveted Sunday afternoon slot in 2012?
Doors open at 11pm on Saturday 20th and close at 5am on Monday. Tickets are on sale online now and cost £25 (£20 student/fabricfirst includes re-entry wristband) from the Saturday and £20 (£15 for students/fabricfirst) from 10am Sunday morning.
