Julia Govor, hailing from Abkhazia, a small Black sea coastal city from the former USSR, is one to watch, Seriously! For her, playing vinyl is some kind of physical connection to music. Julia first got in touch – literally – when she left her isolation of her childhood and youth, and started travelling, broadening her mind and vision, and meeting people, who introduced her to Rave, Drum’n’Bass and Technics turntables. When she arrived in Moscow in 2005 and was exposed to the minimal that was played in Arma17, her path became even more defined. After producing filmed interviews with artists, she set out to become one herself. After Seth Troxler who she had partied and escaped the police with, released her track „Alice“ on which Julia features as a singer, on Visionquest, things started to get interesting, leading her to get involved with Visionquest as well as Get Physical. She also got remixed by Ricardo Villalobos – just another accolade. When listening to her mix, all her passions and involvements shine through: Julia Govor’s love for intrinsic and deep darkish techno and minimal, breaky glitches and short and abstract excusions into the unknown, but never without losing track and sight of the greater image – one which Govor started to assemble a long time ago: impeccable and powerful, yet down to earth and well gripping and anticipate with awe what she will be doing with her crowd when shining at CESARHOF Festival, the exciting 3-day festival taking place in Linsdorf,France. The music will not stop between 22nd and 24th of July, WE LIKE!
