Over summer this year, Kumquat , a close promoter, party series and peer of Meoko, never fail to put on an incredible experience, and will host an open air event, called Misover, hosted at Lilo in the suburbs of Paris. The first event of these will be on the 7th May, with Margaret Dygas, Amir Javasoul and Kumquat music.
The venue Lil’o is located on a former industrial site, in the heart of a protected area, located at the end of Ile Saint-Denis (an island!) this new isolated and intimate playground will welcome you to a Palladium Audio sound system installed in 360°.
There will be 4 events across this concept, of which we expect unreal and unique vibes, experiences and music and we had to share these with you for now. Kumquat, as mentioned in our previous event previews are proud of the way they promote different explorations, added to music and art.
Setting the tone for the first event on 7th may, which will commence at 12 mid day on to midnight, is no other than music from Margaret Dygas. With a quirky sound that combines influences from areas from Berlin, New York and London, it is safe to say she is an artist whose sound possesses a resonance on an international level – which is what makes her so loveable, that, and her chirpy outlook on life both when performing and in her day-to-day life. After her production debut in the 00’s, she has released on Perlon, Non-Standard and Contexterrior. Known for her vast musical background, which projects her desire for experimentation throughout her productions and DJ sets.
Iranian-born artist Amir Javasoul who credits his interest in DJ’ing down to a Derrick Carter mix in his childhood, has, for the past 20 years, been balancing his work as a computer engineer and music selector, maintaining an active touring schedule, both in North America and Europe. He’s a regular mainstay at some of the world’s finest clubs and festivals (Fabric, Stereo, SXM Festival, Output, Uberhaus, Piknik Electronik, Sunwaves, Igloofest to name a few).
Tickets are available now from shotgun website.
After what we will expect to follow on from the success of the first Misover event, we also share a teaser of the news of their second event! This will be on the 28th May, same venue, same distinctive energy but with a different string of artists!
This edition, will host John Dimas, Josh Baker, Abi & plenty of local talent. John Dimas is familiar to most in the scene, whether via his productions or unmissable DJ sets solo, or with his newest venture Voigt.mas with Voigtmann. Having carved himself a reputation with support slots across Europe, he’s now established himself as a highly respected DJ, acknowledged for the diversity in his selections and deep knowledge of music; scattered within all Dimas sets are various obscure cuts that even the most avid music fans are yet to discover. Recent years have seen him perform at London’s Fabric, Ibiza’s DC10 and Amnesia, New York’s Resolute, Paris’ Rex, Bucharest’s Guesthouse (alongside Ricardo Villalobos and Raresh) and all across Berlin, including Club der Visionaere and Watergate.
Manchester head Josh Baker, not only paving a way for himself as an artist, having released on his own label and brand You&Me, which accompanies a successful 7 years of events that have become one Manchester’s stronget underground parties. He has also released on Automatic Writing, Mind Helmet and What NxT. Josh’s productions and DJ sets go hand in hand, fun, collaborative and lively and partial to a retro 90’s house track and vocal, and we look forward to his debut at Misover.
Ra+Re founder and French DJ Abi will be a great addition to the line- up, along with some local talents who may leave a strong impression on attendees.
This will be another unmissable night from Kumquat, tickets are available here. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more details on this edition to follow!
