The Lyon-based imprint run by Thibaut Corsant (aka COR100) has just reached its tenth anniversary, and to celebrate it launches a new series of 10 releases called “Selected Works”. Established in 2011, the label has been spreading nonstop deep and minimal house jams both on vinyl and digital releases, with renowned names such as Doubtingthomas, Ray Mono, Politics of Dancing, Julenn, Lose Endz, Alessio Viggiano, Carlo Gambino; among others for a total of 45 artists, 20 digital releases, 2 albums, and 9 vinyl releases.
The first chapter of this new project is courtesy of the mysterious Under the Radar: the project consists of a trio of Portuguese artists who like to keep things nice and deep, serving quality and easy-to-dance-to DJ tools that will fit both during sunsets and sunrise moments.
The entire album stands out for presenting an existed and elegant deep sound. Each of the seven tracks maintains its own identity, and beyond the versatility and variety of intensities, there is a clear common thread between them, the extra energy that invites the listener to connect the body with the music.
Titled “Innersoul” is precisely that piece that integrates all those small subtleties and details that are unfolding and developing throughout the album. The track reveals a genuine dancefloor attitude with robust kickdrums, shuffled hats, and delayed dub stabs. The summer-breeze pads along with some subtle crystalline vocal samples create a friendlier atmosphere that immediately brings you to the beach.
Noteworthy inside the package is also the funky and jazzy “Re-Think”, the sharp hard-hitter “Hope” and “On The Go”, the ultimate warm-up tool for any sets during the summer.
“Selected Works 01” is limited to 80 numbered copies and includes an exclusive tape (yes, you’ve heard it right, a tape!) + a Download Card + a bonus DJ set of the compilation + a music video. Last but not least, the Zingiber crew is already preparing to continue their 10th-anniversary celebrations, with a big VA release scheduled for September and More plans are also already in the works for a book and a boxset for the end of the year so make sure to keep an eye on their future announcements.
Congratulations Zingiber Audio, Happy 10 years!
