With a live set that has greatly progressed in recent times, Make Me very much appear to have yet another cracking party waiting eagerly in the wings.

mulletover Halloween Special w/ Kerri Chandler, Deetron, Cassy… in Hackney Wick – Win Tickets

By Competitions, Hot Off The Press

Seasoned promotional professionals mulletover once again look set to take London by storm this Saturday November 3rd with yet another installment of their famously debauched Halloween parties. Known to be their favourite time of year, the people behind the event are certain this will be their most high-profile and spectacularly spooky rave yet. Set to be staged across two venues in East London’s Hackney Wick, expect there to be no expense spared when it comes to production – everything on the night will be sparkling in all the right places.

Not to mention, of course, that this could quite easily be mulletover’s biggest line-up ever. Until recently, it had already stood out from the crowd, boasting smooth Cocoon favourite Cassy, UK crossover king Boddika, 2020 Vision’s Huxley, One Records owner Subb-an, and, lest we forget, founder and fantastic artist in his own right, Geddes. Now however, with the addition of two of underground electronic music’s most brilliant talents, it is a line-up that stands head and shoulders above the rest. So who are they? None other than Kerri Chandler and Deetron. With such a veritable array of artistry on offer, what else is there to do but get yourself appropriately made-and-masked-up and head down there?

Doors: Saturday 3rd November 10pm -06am. Tickets have sold out but luckily…

MEOKO have a pair of tickets to the event, which we will give to one lucky winner as long as they tell us: Deetron hails from which European country?

Just Jack Freak Boutique w/ Josh Wink, Ryan Crosson (Live), Bicep at In:Motion – Win Tickets

By Competitions, Hot Off The Press

Just Jack, one of Bristol’s most revered and respected party outfits, return, alongside a slew of others, to the caverns of In:Motion for another mind-bending Halloween circus freakshow. As ever, expect them to leave not a stone unturned when it comes to the details, with ‘bizzare cabaret, exotic Victorian installations and curious excurisons into the weird and wonderful’ all set to play their part. Set across all 3 spaces, including the Tunnel and the Cave, there’s unlikely to be a party as big and as eerily beautiful as this happening anywhere in the UK. And we haven’t even mentioned the line-up..

Headlining the 2nd Warehouse will be none other than Josh Wink, a man whose sheer relevance today, nearly 25 years since he began in the industry, says it all. Supporting his unique brand of twisted house and techno will be Visionquest’s Ryan Crosson, who will be performing his widely venerated live show. Over in the Tunnel, who else but local boys Hypercolour will be running things, bringing Mosca, Eats Everything, Huxley, T. Williams and their very own Cedric Maison to the (DJ) table. As if all that wasn’t enough, the unstoppable force that is Bicep will be headlining the Cave, supported by Charlie Banks and hosted by Shapes. The dress code all night long is ‘Apocalypse Wow’, inviting your flamboyant interpretations on end of the world fashion. Think cosmic Mayan death merchants and carnival oddballs, apparently!

Doors: Saturday 27th October 11pm until late. Tickets have now sold out but thankfully...MEOKO have managed to get their hand on a golden pair of passes to the event. To be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is tell us who directed the Vietnam war film Apocalypse Now?

Superfiction Recordings Label Night presents Episode #2 at Basing House on 12.10 + 4 Hour Exclusive Italoboyz Podcast

By Competitions, Hot Off The Press, MEOKO Exclusive, MEOKO Presents

This Competition is now closed.

After the success of their inaugural label showcase, Superfiction Recordings returns this Friday night to East London’s Basing House for Episode #2. The imprint, set up in July of this year by London’s favourite Italians the Italoboyz, came about from a desire to finally gain control over their output. The duo, who have nurtured strong working relationships with Get Physical, Moon Harbour and mothership over the years, felt it was time to start giving back to the scene that raised them, craving the freedom to release other music, from other artists, as they saw fit. Like the opening party, Episode #2 will feature the Italoboyz alongside partners in crime Blind Minded, who hold a creative role in the running of the label. A concept still very much in its infancy, this is a prime opportunity to see one of Europe’s most celebrated DJ and production duos in a new and invigorating environment, set against the intimate backdrop of Basing House.

Exclusive Italoboyz Podcast

As if that wasn’t enough, ahead of Friday’s soiree MEOKO is very excited to announce that the Italoboyz will be providing the next mix in our celebrated podcast series. For those unfamiliar with them as DJs, the pairing cut their teeth on the formative decks of East London’s party scene, influential in transforming it into the international phenomenon it has become today. This 4 hour mix arrives as the opening extract from one of their marathon 9 hour+ sets at a recent Italoboyz ‘all-nighter’ affair in Venice. For those who associated the duo with peak-time floor-fillers, think again: this is a chance to see how just how versatile and mellow the Italoboyz can be.

To celebrate the arrival of Episode #2 (and the mix!), MEOKO have teamed up with Superfiction to offer one lucky person the chance to win 2x tickets to the event on Friday, as well as a copy of the first Superfiction vinyl & the next upcoming release.  All you have to do is tell us…

Which of these facts is (super) fiction?

a) The Italoboyz are originally from Italy.
b) Basing House is in the West End.
c) Superfiction was set up this summer.

By Competitions, Hot Off The Press

On the 27th of October, East London party planners OneMore will continue their prolific and popular relationship with the Hearn Street Car Park with a very special Halloween event. Having spent the last year transforming this otherwise ordinary space into a veritable clubber’s paradise, Onemore has brought the likes of Tiefschwarz, Ripperton and Radio Slave before their band of faithful followers. With the celebratory prospect of All Hallows Eve fast approaching, what better reason to set-up shop and throw another party to remember.

Headlining this most eerie of events will be arguably OneMore’s most high-profile booking to date: none other than Mr. Steve Lawler. Fresh from successfully curating a season of Viva Warriors parties at Sankey’s Ibiza, the internationally-revered DJ will be bringing his tough, tribal take on house music to London one last time before he embarks on his customary Winter tour of the southern hemisphere. Very few DJs in the world are as in tune with their craft as Lawler, so expect a show-stopping performance. Supporting him are esteemed members of his wider Viva posse; Romanian duo Livio & Roby and the UK’s Antonio De Angelis & Raymundo Rodriguez. So now that you’ve decided on where you’ll be for Halloween, what the hell will you wear?

Bar 25 Film (Berlin) in London

By Competitions, Hot Off The Press, MEOKO Exclusive

This competition is now closed.

This Friday night Shoreditch’s Village Underground looks set to be given the full Berlin makeover as it hosts an exclusive viewing of Bar25, a film documenting the incredible story of one of the German capital’s wildest and most interesting clubs. Famous for inverting and flipping all types of social conventions on their head, Bar 25 was set up by four like-minded individuals, intent on using music, film and art to create a space where people could express themselves as freely and openly as they wished. Despite profits of over €2 million a year, the four founders lived in a caravan on the club site and even shared a toilet. Bar25 follows Lotta, Danny, Christoph and Juval and provides, for the first time, an in-depth insight into their unorthodox worlds.

To commemorate this exclusive, one-off London showing, Village Underground, in-conjunction with Half Baked, will be adorning the interior with an array of cushions, pouffes and sofas and there will be popcorn, face painting and other fun fantastical activities for people to enjoy. The film kicks off around 10.30pm and lasts ninety minutes. Danny Faber and Dirty Doering, two of the original Bar 25 residents, will be spinning after the showing, with Georgio Oniani playing before. Promising to be one of the most challenging and inspirational clubbing films ever made, this is one party not to pass up.
