Festival 24 article

A new festival concept, Festival 24 gives you the opportunity to party non-stop for 24 hours from midday on Saturday 2nd June all the way through to midday on Sunday 3rd June. Set just north of London, near Watford…the beautifully rustic setting making the perfect backdrop for the festival.

Without mentioning the huge roster of local and upcoming talent, Festival 24 also provides some exciting headliners. South Africa’s young and extremely talented tribal house DJ Culoe De Song is probably the one most worth mentioning for us. A rare gig in the UK, his performance at Festival 24 will be a great opportunity to hear his atmospheric blend of afro house and tribal grooves first hand. Our other picks from the lineup are the energetic Martinez Brothers, Crosstown Rebels Subb-an, Clive Henry and Francesca Lombardo, as well as Huxley, Eats Everything, Bugz in the Attic, Wbeeza, Rocco and Robert James.

For a chance to party for 24 hours listening to these great acts, simply email hello_competitions@devmeoko.co.uk with ’24 Hour Party People’ in the title. Good luck!

The infamous Zoo Project in Ibiza has now gained an almost legendary status. At a time when afterparties were being banned and music played in the outdoors was forbidden, the Zoo Project came along at the perfect time; its beautiful surroundings and surreal atmosphere bringing a true Balearic spirit back to the white isle.

Bringing that Balearic vibe to the UK, we’re very excited for the first Zoo Project Festival. Without wanting to lose that same surreal atmosphere that they’ve captured in Ibiza, Zoo have chosen to host the festival in Port Lympne Wild Animal Park between the 14th and 16th September, the first ever festival to be held within the grounds of an active wild animal park!

“Set on 600 acres of stunning grounds, Port Lympne Wild Animal Park features a historic mansion and landscaped gardens with spectacular views over the Kent countryside stretching out to the coast. It is also home to the largest breeding herd of Black Rhinos outside Africa as well as Siberian and Indian tigers, African elephants, monkeys, Barbary lions and many more rare and endangered species”
– Zoo Project Festival

If the location has ticked all of your boxes like it has ours, then the lineup blows all estimations out of the water; literally a who’s who of house and techno. All bases are covered whether you like your beats deep, dubby, driving or just plain hard. Arena’s will be hosted by the likes of Sasha presents Never Say Never, Ostgut Ton, Secretsundaze, Cocoon, Junk, Jaunt, DJ Mag, Kaluki, Louche and of course Channel Zoo.

“Win a pair of tickets to see Azari & III at LOVEBOX Festival

By Competitions, Festival, Hot Off The Press

This competition is closed.

Hip east-end pleasure palace Dalston Superstore takes over the second stage for the Sunday at this year’s Lovebox Festival in Victoria Park, Hackney, with a great line-up of Lana Del Rey, Azari & III, Patrick Wolf and more. And to celebrate this Dalston Superstore have kindly provided us with a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky winner.

As Grace Jones headlines the mainstage, ably assisted by both Chic feat Nile Rodgers and New York’s The Rapture and Jodie Harsh brings her night Circus to the other side of town with Felix Da Housecat and Mika; there’s such a strong sense of disco and dance running throughout the entire day that even the pop acts smack of it.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the festival two east London nights TrailerTrash and GutterSlut [https://www.facebook.com/events/448462018512530/] team up to co-host the dance tent. Having both built their reputation for being open to gays, straights, freaks, trannies, fashion kids, club kids, it seems only appropriate for them to bring the rather mixed musical delights of DJ Hell, Tiga, Ivan Smagghe and a “Special Disco Version” from former LCD Soundsystem members James Murphy and Pat Mahoney.

All you need to do to see all these fabulous acts and more is to answer this easy question…

What are Azari & III hungry for?

  1. Ice-cream
  2. The power
  3. Change

Email your full name and the answer to hello_competitions@devmeoko.co.uk” by 21st May for a chance to win a pair of tickets for you and a friend courtesy of Dalston Superstore and Lovebox Festival. Winners will be announced on the MEOKO Facebook page.

While purging his 25,000 strong vinyl collection last year Matthew B, aka Bushwacka! came across so many hidden gems and special records that he decided to team up with fellow long time DJ Richie Fingers and start a night dedicated to bringing these amazing tunes to the music lovers of the here and now.

It is roughly 25 years since the birth of Acid House and this night is very much centered on music from 1987-1990, which hugely influences everything we are listening to at the moment. In fact so much so that one could argue that production quality aside, we are all dancing to the same beat again.

This is the original house sound. The Thursday night vinyl based house music party featuring special guests each month. Having already welcomed Mr C and Evil Eddie Richards to play the first 2 events, this month’s special guest is Colin Dale. To call Colin Dale “legendary” is no over-estimation.
