the not so serious sessions

London’s very own jozif has made a rather unmistakable impact on the electronic music scene over the last few years. With a distinctive sound that swerves through epic string sections, pristine drum arrangements and rubbery bass lines; jozif has treated us to a concoction of vibes throughout his releases. The genre spanning ‘Sunrise’ EP on Infine, the dance floor killer ‘Chicago’ on Wolf + Lamb, the ambient and emotional ‘Lady B EP’ on Culprit and of course, the Fist or Finger releases which slowly (we wish they would hurry up!) trickle out from his and Craig Richards vinyl only imprint have all shed new light on the deep musical mind of jozif. Upcoming this summer, we hear there are some bangers on the way on Crosstown Rebels and Culprit and of course, an international gig schedule which means our fair city rarely gets a chance to catch the man in action these days. Upbeat and infectiously energetic, RA’s Todd Burns recently dubbed jozif “one of the most entertaining men in dance music” after his recent RA Exchange interview. Seeing as we wholeheartedly agree, we invited him to take part in our weekly series…The Not So Serious Session 5 with the adorable jozif 😉

If I was down to my last fiver I would…

…go down the bookies.

The piece of music I’ve heard the most…

…is the HSBC hold music.

If I could have supper with anyone…

…and I had more than that fiver to spend it would have to be Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks and Tommy Cooper.

DJ’s should…

…eat less.

Music makes me feel…

…pain, anger, hate, frustration, insecurity, paranoia…and that’s all before I’ve opened the studio door.

The one piece of advice I will give my children…

…is gonna be to always ask Mummy for her advice first!
