For well over two decades, Berlin’s Tresor has stood as one of the founding bastions of the techno movement. Both the club and the record label played a key and influential role in the city’s now burgeoning electronic scene, helping launch the careers of DJs such as Sven Vath, Jeff Mills and Robert Hood. As of 2013, the Tresor franchise officially extends its reach to London, beginning a showcase residency at various warehouse spaces across the capital.
First up, Saturday 2nd February sees one of Tresor’s most celebrated affiliates touch down in as yet undisclosed East London venue. Juan Atkins, one of the professed godfathers of techno, has always been proud to call Tresor his second home, playing regularly at the club since its inception. Joining him will be DJ Deep, a ubiquitously revered and respected member of the new school movement. Promoter and DJ Dasha Rush will provide support with her live show, alongside promising young talent Psyk. Opportunities to see Juan Atkins within the context of Tresor are increasingly few and far between, don’t miss out.
To commemorate this new series of warehouse events, MEOKO have teamed up with Tresor to offer one lucky winner a very special prize. Answer the below question correctly and you could take home 2x tickets to the Juan Atkins party on the 2nd, as well as both a vinyl copy of ‘Tresor 257: s_w_z_k‘ and a CD copy of the DJ Deep mix ‘Kern‘. All you have to do is tell us:
What year was the Tresor club in Berlin founded?
