Zombie Soundsystem have teamed up with none other than the European powerhouse Cadenza for their annual celebration of all things evil this Halloween, commandeering East London’s esteemed Netil House for what we’re confident will be a terrifyingly good example of house and techno done proper. ‘Music to die for’, as they say.
Mirko Loco is one of the key players in Luciano’s Cadenza family, with a large part of his work featuring in the label’s back catalogue and frequent appearances at label nights. It’s the playful element to his rich, melodic cuts that make him such a firm favourite, and an obvious choice for the Zombie crew to welcome down. Guido Schneider will also be returning to the Soundsystem – a failsafe choice given the way he’s torn it up there so many times before.
Swiss born Marlowe will be performing a live set, giving us a taste of his sound, which leans slightly towards the more experimental of Cadenza’s output. In both his work as one half of Digitaline and in his solo productions, Marlowe’s far-reaching influences combined with his evident dexterity in the studio has seen him develop into a DJ not to be missed. Completeing Cadenza’s army for the 1st will be Chica Paula, a DJ’s DJ who has graced the decks at Ostbahnhof, Weekend and Tresor to name a few – which speaks in volumes of her ability. Residents Shane Watcha and Clint Lee will provide the floor gets warmed up nicely, and as anyone who has been to a Zombie Soundsystem night before will know, they know what they’re doing.
