Mike Shannon is a name synonymous with the rise of the Canadian electronic music scene, having devoted the last 15 years of his life to his passion. With albums on some of the industry’s most respected labels, including Plus 8, Force Inc and ~Scape, his next offering comes in the form of two techy cuts for the second instalment of Half Baked, the London label known for their famous Sunday parties. ‘Slip It’ is a great example of hypnotising minimal at its best, whilst the remix is taken care of by Thomas Melchior (Melchior Produtions LTD), stripping it to its core for a fierce rethink. Ahead of his forthcoming release on Half Baked, we’ve got a real treat for the 80th edition of our mix series. Recorded live in Philadelphia, USA during his recent appearance at Rizumu, Shannon shows off his boundless versatility with a pumping set which dances between soul infused Chicago house and his signature techno shuffle.
