Miami native Jesse Perez is somewhat of a joker. And it’s easy to not look far enough beyond that and fail to see the talented and hard-working young man beneath gangsta house bravado and dick jokes. Brought to global attention with his pumpin’, booty-shaking release ‘Jesse Don’t Sport No Jerri Curl’ on Hot Creations, Perez has not rested on his laurels since. Last week saw new track ‘Miami’s My Town’ come out on his own label Mr Nice Guy Records. The track, a ‘90s inspired number, sits neatly alongside the likes of Bicep and Waze & Odyssey, and speaks of great things ahead for him including an upcoming EP on Heidi’s Jackathon Jams label. We were lucky enough to catch the man himself for our on going Not So Serious Session.
